Terms of Service
These terms are the agreement between you and the developer of Dispatches ("we", "us") for your use of the Dispatches iPhone app. By downloading, subscribing to, or using Dispatches, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

1. Using Dispatches
Dispatches is a photo-filing app for iPhone: import photos, cull and rate them, caption them, and deliver them to destinations you set up. You must be old enough to form a binding contract in your country to subscribe. You are responsible for keeping your device, Apple ID, and any destination credentials you enter secure.
2. Subscription & free trial
Dispatches is offered as a single monthly subscription. Launch pricing is £4.99 / $5.99 / €4.99 per month (the exact local price is shown in the App Store before you subscribe, in your local currency and including any applicable tax).
- 14-day free trial. New subscribers get a 14-day free trial. If you don't cancel before the trial ends, the subscription begins and you are charged the then-current price.
- Auto-renewal. The subscription auto-renews each month through your Apple ID until you cancel. Apple charges your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase and again at each renewal.
- Cancelling. You manage and cancel the subscription in your Apple ID subscription settings (Settings → your name → Subscriptions, or the App Store). Cancel at least 24 hours before a renewal to avoid the next charge. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period — you keep access until then.
- Refunds. All purchases are billed by Apple and governed by Apple's terms. Refund requests are handled by Apple, not by us, except where a refund is required by law.
- Price changes. If the price changes, Apple will notify you and, where required, ask for your consent before a renewal at the new price. Existing subscribers may be grandfathered at their original price where we choose to do so.
3. AI Event Briefs & credit packs
The subscription includes 50 AI Event Briefs per month (one brief = one AI captioning run over a batch). The monthly allowance resets each billing period and does not roll over.
If you need more in a given month, you can buy optional credit packs. Credit packs are consumable in-app purchases: once delivered to your account they are consumed as you use them and are non-refundable except where a refund is required by law. Credit packs supplement the monthly allowance and have no cash value.
AI Event Briefs depend on a third-party AI service and on online captioning being enabled. We may apply reasonable rate limits and fair-use protections to keep the service available to everyone.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to use Dispatches to:
- Break any law, or infringe anyone's copyright, privacy, publicity, or other rights;
- Upload, caption, or deliver content that is unlawful, or that you don't have the right to transmit;
- Send malware, spam, or attempt to disrupt, overload, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorised access to the app or any connected service;
- Misuse the AI features — for example to generate unlawful content or to circumvent usage limits.
5. Your content & the destinations you configure
You own your photos and content. We claim no ownership over the photos, captions, or metadata you handle in Dispatches.
You are responsible for what you transmit and where you send it. Dispatches delivers your content to destinations you set up — FTP servers, email recipients, social platforms, and similar. You are responsible for configuring those destinations correctly, for the credentials you enter, and for having the right to send the content to them. We do not control, and are not responsible for, the third-party servers and services you deliver to, including their availability, security, or retention of your files.
6. Third-party services
Dispatches works with services operated by others — Apple (App Store and payments), Google (the AI service used for Event Briefs), and the destinations you configure. Your use of those services is also subject to their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party services being available, accurate, or secure, and outages or changes on their side may affect features that rely on them.
7. Intellectual property
The Dispatches app, its name, branding, and software are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app under these terms and Apple's standard licensed-application terms. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or reverse-engineer the app except as the law expressly allows.
8. No warranty
Dispatches is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for any particular purpose, and we do not warrant the availability, reliability, or security of any third-party server or service — including FTP servers, email providers, and social platforms — that you choose to deliver to. Delivery to a destination you configure can fail or be delayed for reasons outside our control.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, photos, profit, or business, arising out of or related to your use of Dispatches. Our total liability for any claim relating to the app is limited to the amount you paid for the subscription in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including your statutory consumer rights.
10. Termination
You can stop using Dispatches at any time by cancelling your subscription and deleting the app. We may suspend or end your access if you materially breach these terms or misuse the service. On termination, the licence in section 7 ends; sections that by their nature should survive (such as content ownership, disclaimers, liability limits, and governing law) continue to apply.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and the courts of England and Wales will have non-exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute. This does not remove any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have under the law of the country where you live.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top and, for material changes, surface notice in the app or on this page where appropriate. Continuing to use Dispatches after an update means you accept the revised terms. If you don't agree to a change, stop using the app and cancel your subscription.
